Like so many things in life the more you do it the easier it gets and acupuncture actually becomes enjoyable and relaxing to the frequent participant. Laser and finer Japanese needle treatment also available.

Everyone can try acupuncture but it may not be the best mode for everyone. Ask your acupuncturist for further information but for those willing to give acupuncture a go rewards far outweigh the fear of the needle.

The World Health Organisation

Origin:

Acupuncture has been around for over 2000 years. It was designed and improved over the years through careful observation of the patient. In other words if a point or points worked it was written down and handed down to the next generation. Mostly the point combinations were family secrets but today they are written and sold in various texts by various authors for any qualified acupuncturist to try.

Acupuncture is the insertion of a very fine needle into the skin and muscle. Sometimes the needle is manipulated to produce a 'dull ache'. This may be perceived by the patient as pain until they get used to the sensation.
