ACC Information
New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme provides 24 hour no fault personal injury insurance cover.
The Accident Compensation Corporation is also known as ACC.
Accident Compensation Corporation administers this scheme which provides personal injury cover for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to N.Z. In return people do not have the right to sue for personal injury other than for exemplary damages.
This means that no matter where you injured yourself — at home, on the sports field or at work you can apply to ACC.
You do this through your doctor, or via a registered health provider that is approved by ACC. If you have an approved claim I can see you for that complaint.
How does the process work?
Your provider will fill out an ACC 45
That form will get uploaded to ACC for approval
Once approved by ACC, you will get a number by ACC
You can see your acupuncturist using that number
You do not need to be referred, the number is enough!

Acupuncture helps aches and pains by releasing muscle spasm which can aggravate nerves. Encouraging blood and rebalancing the energy in the affected area assists the healing process.
Acupuncture, moxa, cupping, electrotherapy and massage may be used to aid in your treatment.
Acupuncture Health charges $35 to cover costs of service.
ACC will cover the rest of the cost.
